He doesn't remember anything.

Book 1. In which rescuing the Avatar from Pohuai Stronghold doesn't end so well. It's a tough life being a banished prince trying to get home, especially when the Avatar just wants to be your friend and keeps making everything confusing. Oh, and did Zuko mention he somehow healed the kid? Yeah, that happened.

It was the kind of thing that happened in folktales: a cursed prince, a transformation that could not be broken. Except those princes usually became monstrous-looking creatures who needed true love's kiss to return to normal. They did not get stuck as a six-year-old boy depending on a bald runt and two Water Tribe siblings.

She wants the world to freeze so this moment will keep on existing, endless like a scene enclosed in a snow globe.

It was like a fairy tale. Except the "sleeping beauty" was a pasty-arsed git, and all his saviour wanted was enough money to silence the whines of her inner pragmatist. Neither believed it was true love.

Ginny removed the bagel from her mouth. "Really? We haven't seen each other in years and all you can say is 'Weasley' like we're still at Hogwarts? What about sorry?" She pointed at her coffee-stained shirt. "Look what you did!"

He wasn't her friend—not even her frenemy—but even if he was a bona fide snob and had called her flat-chested, he was still her team mate. That counted for something.

She stared at the empty space where he had stood, and a single tear rolled down her cheek. She could only wish that it would be the last she would ever shed for him.

My mother told me once that she hated to see birds kept in a cage. She said that birds were not made to be trapped behind bars; they were made to fly.

Draco shifted uncomfortably against the bonds keeping him tied to the chair and glowered at the redhead in front of him. Being kidnapped by Ginny Weasley was not something he had bargained on.

I smile. I don’t know why. I just know it is my secret.

“I’m not blushing!" Ginny cried. "I’m just—Oh, forget it. I do not want to have this conversation with you right now. In case you’ve forgotten, I’m feeling more than a little upset. You did just see me naked, after all.”

"If you're going to stand there and laugh at me," Ginny retorted with as much dignity as she could muster whilst clinging onto a branch and looking no better than a bedraggled rat, "you could at least have the decency to help me first."

“Why do I have to wear Miss Strawberry Shortcake’s apron?” demanded Draco. His teacher only smiled wickedly, and he suddenly wondered if he had made a mistake in asking her to help him cook the dinner. She was a redheaded shrew, after all.
