For Harry Potter, choosing death was something he did out of resignation as after doing what he was fated to do, he saw no reason to live. He had no home to come home to unlike his friends. But while he did reincarnate in a medieval world, it seems he can't enjoy peace for long...he just has that luck, that's all.
