This will be a collection of stories that are not big enough to stand on their own, and they are available for adoption. The reason for that may be one or more of the following...

Harry wises up and notices a pattern in his life and takes steps to stop the enemy's actions against him. Fourth year, no pairings.

Sirius decides to stop brooding and asks a few pointed questions which leads Harry to an interesting choice.

At Dumbledore's funeral, Harry plans to leave his girlfriend behind while he goes to war. Ginny presents another plan. This is a book7 replacement with Harry being motivated to be smarter and wiser.

Harry hoped that going to Hogwarts would be a good thing for him, his chance to start over. He was surprised by what he found.

When his name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, Harry wants to know who put his name in. The professors aren't cooperating, so he takes matters into his own hands.

After the disaster at the end of 5th year, Hermione sees a comic book and decides she can do better than others to keep Harry safe by making him a suit of armor.

Summer after 4th year and after his trial, Harry becomes fed up with a number of things and decides he wants to spend more time with Sirius, so he convinces Sirius to home school him instead of returning to Hogwarts for his fifth year.

If there are intent-based protective wards such as Albus erected around the Dursleys, how would Hogwarts be if it had some?

After his adventure in the Department of Mysteries, Harry finds a new power over air which gives him confidence. He's "live and let live" until you come after him, then watch out. This starts just after the revelation of the prophecy at the end of book5.

During the final battle, Harry gets thrown into a new universe, landing on the bridge of the USS Enterprise-D. This should take place in about "season 4" of ST:TNG, but I'm not going to be strict about the timeline, using things and events as needed.

Harry becomes disillusioned with his world after defeating Voldemort and decides to go traveling, ending up in another dimension that's similar but not quite the same as his original one. He makes friends with the Avengers.

After Sirius dies, Harry is isolated and feels betrayed by everyone who's been around him recently and leaves to figure out what he should do. An "old friend" is sent to look after him and try to bring him back. Together they search for a way to kill a Dark Lord and maybe fix society too.

If Sirius and James were peers (and the Malfoys too), shouldn't we assume their families were set up somewhat similarly? (I don't mean beliefs.) A oneshot with J/L.

In his sixth year, Harry meets an unexpected visitor at school and not only does she like him, but she can help him beat Voldemort. (for those that care about 'ships, Harry/sorta-OC)

Harry is back at the Durleys after the battle at the DoM. After terrible nightmares every night, it finally occurs to him that many of the problems and thoughts he's having a difficult time with are due to choices he's made and how he chooses to look at his problems. Deciding to be a Gryffindor in his mind and face those problems directly, he starts to make different choices. H/G

Harry finds that his "saving people thing" is a power of its own, capable of bonding single witches to him if their life is in mortal danger, with unusual results. H/multi

Harry has a special Christmas encounter in his "7th" year. (H/G)

When his name comes out of the Goblet of Fire, Harry decides to stop "rolling over" and "just taking it." He has "Marauder godfathers" and decides to have them help him strike back. A one-shot. H/G eventually

After the war, the Wizengamot passes a law requiring all young wizards and witches to marry, and the Ministry will assign the partners. How do Harry and his friends react? H/G, but not overly so

What if Lily had survived and escaped with Harry in the attack on Halloween of 1981? How will Lily, who many believed to be the smartest witch of her generation, raise her son and how will he fulfill his destiny? H/G

After 5th year, the “talk” with Vernon at the train station is counter-productive and Dumbledore learns how big a mistake he made by continually sending Harry back to the Dursleys. A one-shot, no pairing.

Just before the final battle, Harry asks Ron to make sure he takes care of Ginny such that she never has to worry about the basics of life if he should die in battle. Ron thinks that's a good idea and asks Harry to do the same... see top of story

During Harry's fourth year, what if Ginny had asked Harry how he was feeling when her brother turned his back on Harry? What if she had tried to befriend him then? How would that have affected Harry and his other friends? To cover Harry's fourth year.

Ginny momentarily rejects Harry at Bill's Wedding to show him how hurt she felt after he pushed her away at Dumbledore's funeral, so Harry decides he's had enough of the war and leaves on his own. Can Ginny find and convince him to come home?

After Sirius's death, Harry gets fed up with all the meddling in his life and decides to live his way. He also learns some important lessons along the way, like friends are important. HG
