Then Hermione found some Pixie Stix, blew up the plot, and somehow turned this into a canon rewrite. She and Harry are currently kicking canon's arse and chewing bubble gum. (AU) Hermione's biggest worries in life are her dissertation and her rent, at least until she drunkenly takes a stick from a green-eyed stranger and breaks what she thought were the laws of physics. Now she's facing a high-stakes, impossible test, but she's never failed a test before and isn't about to start.

(Regency AU) The formal ball Harry's hosting is even worse than he thought it would be, but he's pretty sure he's found the perfect place to hide from his adoring (this week) public...until the curses start flying. In the darkness of Potter Manor Library, Harry and a mysterious witch will finally face the hidden scars of the war and either accept damnation or find their own light.

When Draco goes missing on an Auror operation and they don't want to spare the resources to look for him, Narcissa hauls Harry out of his depression to find her son. The decrepit Greengrass Manor conceals far more than Draco's fate, though, and the old enemies become unexpected allies in a fight against the Ministry, Death Eaters, and a dead man's hatred.

Harry doesn't necessarily expect a polite "thank you" after saving Daphne and her sister from falling to their deaths, but he definitely doesn't expect the stream of verbal and magical curses he gets instead. His surprise is nothing compared to hers when her curse fails, though...
