After the disaster of Godric's Hollow, Harry and Hermione are without leads for their Horcrux hunt, cold and hungry. In short, they are not having a particularly enjoyable time. It is a good thing, then, that the New Year is rapidly approaching. Important conversations are shared, confessions made, and a lot of snuggling ensues as the two best friends celebrate the New Year.

"All was well." - DH, P2, Epilogue After the final defeat of Voldemort, all was not well with Harry Potter. This story takes a slightly more realistic outlook on what would Harry's mental state have actually looked like at the end of the series. Because for him to be 'well' after the shit he's gone through, seems rather too optimistic of an outlook.

In a world where the Wizarding World didn't hide in the dark, but instead rose up and cemented their reign and dominance over the Muggles, four Kingdoms rule over Britain. Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. With no modern weapons to oppose them, beasts, such as dragons, are the main weapons of war in an ever-shifting political climate among the kingdoms.

After Lord Voldemort strikes a deal with the Ministry and Albus Dumbledore, Harry's life is once again under immediate threat of ending. Hermione is determined not to let that happen, whatever it takes. OR: A different take on their 6th year, with a more proactive ministry and a morally grey Dumbledore. NO BASHING.
