With OWLs knocking at his door in a few months, a bored and reactive Sirius Black gets banished to his uncle Alphard as punishment. Only to find that with Alphard Black as an uncle, his punishment is in fact not only a welcome respite from his immediate family, and not only a chance to deepen his knowledge of Muggles, but the start of him realising what it means to grow up.
After the Basilisk's attack, and with Sirius Black loose, Dumbledore must make a decision. To have Dementors roaming Hogwarts, further risking the students' wellbeing, or to move their location temporarily? During the Welcoming Feast, students find out that the decision made was for Durmstrang to 'host' Hogwarts and its students until Sirius Black would be caught.

A few years out of Azkaban, Karkaroff is brought along a train ride to act as a translator for a Durmstrang colleague that utterly despises him. He decides to go along and enjoy the ride, but by the end of it, ends up enjoying a bit more than just the train.
