9-year-old Hermione Granger didn't believe in any kind of magic but the magic of words. So when she picks up "Matilda" from the new books section, she isn't ready for the magic inside it, or how that magic would transform her.

Eight months later, rumor has it that Lysander is getting married and Molly doesn't know what to do. When she runs into an old friend, she might just be ready to try loving again. But everything seems out to keep them apart.

You start with two hands, like every clock, but yours swing at random, and you know the information is more pertinent. You don't need twelve different places to be, and what are ones and sixes but numbers? Those numbers never stay the same and a clock in Australia would show completely different numbers. Hugo got his wish, and the Sorting Hat has placed him in Gryffindor. But his excitement doesn't last long as his dorm mates call him Hugo the Hufflepuff and tease him incessantly. "Oh Merlin," came Anthony's voice from beside her, and she pushed in front of him to see what he saw. He was staring in the direction of the Astronomy Tower. Her refuge. She hoped nothing had happened to it, but now that she thought about it, the chaos had seemed to be heading in that direction. Why hadn't she stopped them?

Sitting at a desk just outside the Minister's office, Percy Weasley questioned his loyalty. Signing paperwork on behalf of Cornelius Fudge himself, a faint whisper in his brain would not leave him alone: Maybe you're wrong.

Could anyone have known that he wished to die in glory? To be remembered as a young man, the one they could depend on for protection - that was his dying wish. He had a dying wish at the age of thirty-five and yet here he was, more than twice that age, lying in a comfortable bed in his castle at Hogwarts, waiting to die in his sleep.
