AU. A series of prompted and connected one-shots focusing on the lives of the Lupins post DH, from 1998 to 2018. Lupin adjusts to a paid position, Tonks is still trying to bridge the gap between minx and mother, and Teddy is adjusting to being an elder sibling to a wide-eyed hellraiser.

There is something hatefully tragic about Remus Lupin. He is torn between disdain and disbelief. Snape raises an eyebrow and hums his disapproval. He has always been against this appointment.

"I can't promise you wealth," he warns her. "In fact, I can only offer you poverty and I certainly cannot promise you good health. I'm not convinced I can even offer you happiness, but I want you to know that I have never been surer of anything than I am of my love for you."

After the Battle of the Seven Potters, Tonks has a worrying realisation while coming to terms with her mentor's death. War has its consequences, but so does marriage.

Lupin and Sirius sort through some old school photographs.

He laughed at her jokes, smiled warmly across the table, and she thought just once he might have been flirting with her, but she supposed that was the result of an optimistic imagination. Regardless of what he was, or what he thought he was, Tonks couldn't help but wonder how a man like Remus Lupin could possibly think so little of himself.

Perhaps Tonks isn't every man's fantasy, but she's his. She's lying beside him, the sheer bulk of her bump producing a small groan as she shifts her weight, and Remus Lupin can't quite believe his luck.

"But seas between us broad have roared, since times gone by." It's New Year's Eve and Remus Lupin doesn't intend to spend the evening alone.

"You have to promise me something. You have to promise to be here when I get back."

"Don't think he's some sort of changeling, but he's not going to be the same little boy." The morning after the attack on six-year-old Remus Lupin, his parents can't help but wonder what'll become of him.

AU. Re-write. Their second child is unplanned, just as their first had been, but Tonks' second pregnancy seems as though it is a disaster almost from start to finish. "Are you pleased?" Lupin squeezes her hand. "But I still don't know what we're going to do."

As avid a photographer as Remus is, there are some moments that would just be completely inappropriate to capture. These, ladies and gentlemen, are those moments. Companion to 'Where Dwell the Brave at Heart'.

Before Lupin returns to his wife and unborn child, he has a great deal of thinking to do. Returning to his childhood home, he realises he's more like his father than he'd first thought. "You did need him, Remus. That's why he stayed. He needed you too. You grew up to be his best friend. Do you really want to miss that?"

"In time, the mind, protecting its sanity, covers the wounds with scar tissue and the pain lessens. But it is never gone." Every time Teddy greets her with "Wotcher, Nana," and his silver eyes twinkle in his heart-shaped face, it's a knife through her heart. Andromeda studies her grandson.

The annual visit to Dudley Dursley and family is not an event that James Potter anticipates - largely because he doesn't understand Monopoly. Luckily, he is a contemporary of Teddy Lupin. There aren't many people who can teach life lessons while explaining how to cheat your way through real-estate games.

AU. Sequel to 'Dilemma'. School days are said to be the best of one's life. With friends who ought to be institutionalised, his father teaching him, a Slytherin who wants him dead, and constant detentions, Teddy Lupin would be inclined to disagree.

AU. Compatible with 'Daring, Nerve and Chivalry' and 'Where Dwell the Brave at Heart'. After a blow to the head, Harry wakes to find himself in a very different world, because for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways." Tonks reflects on her husband.

"It has been said you will run into the love of your life five times before you actually meet them, learn their name and become a part of their life"

It is the first time Remus has held a child since he was babysitting James' and he's apprehensive but he holds his arms in position dutifully and takes his first look at his baby son.

"Lupin strolled away from the bed and over to the werewolf, who had no visitors and was looking rather wistfully at the crowd around Mr. Weasley…"

"I'll meet his eyes and instead of wishing he would stride across the hallway, take me in his arms and snog me senseless, I'll look away, take a deep breath and batter him to death with that bloody umbrella stand". Tonks muses on her absent ex-boyfriend.

The baby kicked lightly, recognising the voice it remembered from months ago, close at hand once more. "So are you coming home or not?" Lupin goes back to Tonks.

AU. "I think I overstepped the mark. I'm sorry. Look, I think that I said worse. I don't believe you're trying to replace Sirius." On Father's Day, Harry visits the man he deems to be his last remaining father figure.

"Who do you think he is?" she whispered to Lupin, leaning closer to him but peering at the Order, now assembling in the kitchen of Grimmauld Place, her gaze catching each man and scrutinising. "The werewolf, I mean."

"I would have thought you would know how it feels to be a Neville and yet you repeatedly make a mockery of him." Snape is forced to draw parallels between himself, the new Defence Professor and the most incompetent child he's ever taught.

James sighed. "I want you to know that this is the real measure of how much I love you, Al. I am giving you my only chat-up line that actually works."

Re-post. During his second break-in to Hogwarts Castle, Sirius finds the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom.

"Is it scary? Being in a big castle? Ghosts? Making friends? Being noticed? Being away from Mum and Dad?" On the eve of his first day at Hogwarts, Albus has some questions for his brother.

Lupin slammed a red envelope on the kitchen table. "It's not a Howler. It's a Valentine's card."

Lupin and Sirius sort through yet more of Lupin's photographs, this time from 1979-81. Sequel to 'Where Dwell the Brave at Heart'.

"Only in the memories of a sole middle-aged man was he funny, a brilliant Potioner, and covered in cake mix." The night that Lupin recieves the news of Peter's death, he forces himself to acknowledge Peter as more than the traitor he grew up to be.

"Suddenly serious, he met Lupin's eyes. "Remus, you're my only friend in the world. Please."" After the events in the Shrieking Shack, Sirius visits his old friend to find that their reunion doesn't go quite as smoothly as he had hoped.

With three days before the Potters return from a holiday in France, Sirius makes the reckless decision to move out of Grimmauld Place, learning more about himself in an hour than he has learned in the last sixteen years.

Weeks before he goes to Hogwarts, James is disconcerted that his father has not given him the map. After all, what's the point of being Harry Potter's son if you don't get any of the cool stuff because he's handed it all to his godson?

AU Requiem fic-verse. The moment when one's deepest and most embarrassing life ambitions are revealed is always difficult, never more so than when one's father is one's Careers Adviser.

"They were 'conversing' with strange men - all of whom possessed peculiar names - who appeared to be incredible cartographers, but they could not read it and therefore did not know just what they had plotted." Fred and George find the Map.

AU Requiem fic-verse. Coconuts, apples, the stock-market, a sick child, and another with a phobia. Throw in a small dog whose idea of fun is sleeping on his face. This could be the worst night of Remus Lupin's life.

AU. Faced with being the most conspicuous student at Hogwarts, Teddy begins to feel the pressure. Luckily, he's more of a Black than he thinks. Two-shot.

AU. Sequel to Requiem. "What happened to you last night?" Lupin smirked. "Darling, you wouldn't believe me if I told you."

Companion to The Gospel According to Lupin but AU. Teddy finds his letters in the attic at 17 bringing a whole new meaning to the word awkward as his father panics, his sister enters a crisis and he fights for his answers.

AU. "They don't stop crying. They won't sleep. They won't eat. They don't let you have a moment's peace, but you get to play Chess with someone you can actually beat." Lupin tries to sell the idea of being a father to a panicked Harry.

Gods, of sex or otherwise, did not posses goofy grins. Neither were they so clumsy that it had gotten beyond a joke. And nor, for that matter, did they have turquoise hair that…rather suited him actually, and silver eyes that made hearts stop.

Finally, his hand came to rest once more on her bump, massaging until he felt it kick back. "I've got a name," he murmured. "Let's call him Ted."

AU Requiem Fic-verse. "I'll be the first to admit that I'm a walking encyclopaedia, Ted, but not even I know everything. Is there any way you can perhaps give me a specialised subject?" "You." Teddy has some questions for his father.

Remus was like a small child when he slept. Sirius felt the shiver up his spine. That's just what he was; an actor. A superb and dangerous actor. The perfect spy.

He bites his lip. He's been told about wandering into the forest just outside their little garden, warned even.

"Yet sometimes he thought or maybe hoped that strangers in the street seemed to know him. Very strange strangers they were, too."

There is no good and evil. There is only power and those too weak to see it. The night of Anna's death, Peter reflects on weakness and sacrifice. Sort of sequel to Sugar and Spice.

""What if people see her in me? What if they know who I am before I can even introduce myself? What if they judge before they even speak to me?"

He wished desperately that he could laugh like that again. He wished he could laugh like Peter; about nothing much at all other than the fact that he was happy and mildly drunk and surrounded by people who loved him.

Statistically, we’re better off than most fathers and sons because it’s been proven that the human brain absorbs more from what its owner reads than what its owner hears." Teddy recieves a series of letters from his deceased father.

The next two years of Remus Lupin's life will be an endurance test. Between his bachelor best friend, a murderous house elf, and a sexy young auror who appears to have a crush on him, it should at least be interesting...

“I don’t know, Padfoot,” said the teenaged Sirius. “But it looks like we’re not in Kansas anymore.” Sirius reaches the Gates of Saint Peter and is rather surprised by who he finds there.

AU Requiem fic-verse. Teddy's first word leaves Lupin both ecstatic and tormented for the rest of his life...

It’s one of those things, I think, where you don’t know how much someone means to you until they decide to bugger off. Until you force them to...

He doesn’t even know what that means but it sounds like him; the contradiction in terms. He can’t be Sirius and Black and yet, he is. He wonders if he made the right choice.

You'll see, Remus. You won't like it but you'll see." The night before Pettigrew is discovered, Sirius makes a plea to the only person who will believe him.

The Lupins discover the Muggle sensation of 'Love Hearts'. Lupin tries to teach an unwilling Tonks sugar tolerance on Valentine's Day and as with all things, it does not go according to plan.

He was sure of Black’s guilt, how could he come to any other conclusion? Yet, there was something very out of place; something he could not put his finger on but what did one forced puzzle piece matter?

He had been told who the new Defence teacher would be, forewarned he supposed so that he was not surprised when he discovered the truth for himself. However, surprised wasn't the word as Remus Lupin turned to face him. Knocked for six was more like it.

Tonks watches her husband sleep, prompting an embarrassing conversation that neither will forget in a hurry...

Your being dead and omnipotent really does ruin all my surprises". Lupin visits the graves of the Potters in an attempt to make some sense of his life.

Prequel to 'I attempt from love's sickness to fly' for all those who asked for it but it can be read as stand-alone story. Tonks blames herself for Sirius' death and seeks comfort from his best friend.

“I’m obviously going to drunkenly dance with you at New Year’s and I’m going to try and trap you under mistletoe every Christmas and occasionally, I’ll watch you sleep just to check you’re still breathing because I have to. They’re the rules."

February 16th: Dolohov’s owl is no more. I put the Imperius Curse on it and made it dance to Spandau Ballet, off the window ledge and into Bella’s rose bush. Good times. Good times.
