Hermione expected her divorce. It was everything else that happened afterwards that was unexpected.
Hermione never thought her attraction to Professor Riddle was more than a passing crush. Or that it would be mutual. But being his student means they have to keep their relationship a secret. But no matter what lengths they take, secrets always have a habit of getting out.
