Vernon gets the smarts when accidental magic in response to a bellow breaks the compulsion to be mean to Harry. He is well sore with the magical world which is making a child soldier by grooming Harry, so he decides to turn the weapon back on them by teaching Harry all he needs to survive.
Severus Snape wants to help his friend Lily Evans, and this means bearding his Prince Grandfather and asking if there is a way to boost Petunia into being magical. Joining the train with the Evans girls, Sev, now adopted 'Prince', makes friends with 4 boys and antagonises a prefect called Malfoy. Runes abound. Rated out of paranoia. No slash. Evans girls as Evans. Book 2 under way
Ron makes a bad choice about seeking out Hermione, and Harry, panicking, calls for aid using parseltongue as the tap is right in front of him. He and Hermione make a new friend, and Snape recognises the lack of self-worth of the abused. A Snape-mentor fic with a 60 foot twist. This has four years/chapters, and it's a good place to stop.

When Pansy Parkinson opts for Ron Weasley as a suitable bridegroom to rescue her from abuse at home, it has a knock-on effect with Harry's life too as Pansy helps him understand his place in society and how to use it within the context of the Triwizard. Rated for mention of abuse.
Expanded from one of the whimsical drabbles. When Harry reckons that being chosen for the Triwizard has nullified his contract with Hogwarts and expelled him, he strikes a deal with Karkaroff, to Dumbledore's horror. Not to be taken seriously, just enjoy the anarchy and mayhem.
in a burst of accidental magic, Harry uses legilimensy to see pictures of his mother, and wish magic turns him into a little girl who looks like Lily. Vernon dies, and Petunia looks for somewhere to move. In Crawley they meet a little girl who also has accidental magic and with Petunia's knowledge and Dan Granger's cunning, plots are made. Fem! Year 2 of Sev and the Marauders. Dumbledore finds a nasty ring, and Tiberius Prince fixes things ... his way. The Marauders are still searching for horcruxes, and Voldemort gets knacky that Tiberius Prince won't be his best minion. Lucius Malfoy continues to learn life lessons, and with Tiberius as headmaster, some changes are instituted. There are, of course, pranks.

In which a smart!Vernon figures out that he and Petunia are being manipulated to resent Harry, and decide to do all they can to teach him everything they can about the wizarding world. Petunia enlists Lily's old friend, Severus Snape, and when the Marauders come on board they love the biggest prank on Dumbledore ever.

this was written in response to a request of what might happen if Severus had not suffered the worst of the bullying at the hands of the Marauders. Instead, his mother takes him to America to go to school, but he remains in contact with Lily by letter, and when she is in trouble, he returns with a new identity, and brings what he has learned to her aid.

because the horcrux in Harry's head wasn't dealt with when he was a child, and was killed by a rather brute force method after much trauma, Harry Potter is an adult who will not live to see his 30th birthday. Vernon's reaction to having Harry dumped on the doorstep by *their kind* is predictable, and Petunia has a small epiphany over what might happen if Dudley develops magic when he is older the way Lily did. Suddenly her love for her sister is more important than her jealousy, and she takes steps to save Harry and Dudley by contacting the only person she knows in the wizarding world.

With the tensions of exams and the machinations of the Necromancer and followers, the run-up to the final part of the Triwizard is never going to be quiet and peaceful. But then, what Marauder likes it quiet and peaceful? Don't blame me for the Triwizard result, I'd been worrying over it and then I had a dream about it.
The second task of the Triwizard is imminent, but it is not the foremost thing in the lives of some of the students. Danger from a selection of supremacists of more or less efficiency still abound, and Aglaia Hallow has some hard choices to make. Meanwhile the Musical Marauders plot to get Agata Bacso sorted out romantically.

David Fraser is instituting new changes to Hogwarts in his capacity of Headmaster, including a school stable for playing Quiddpolo, and bringing in new staff to increase efficiency. No longer as new a headmaster as he was, David still faces challenges from the behaviour of one the seniors in Ravenclaw. The good news is that Bella has a tiger and she knows what to do with him.
Jade is setting up her new school for goblins and blood taints in Germany, and discovers more pupils than she had anticipated when she finds an awful orphanage. It's not just a case of teaching the youngsters to do enough magic for the new ZAP exam, but teaching some of them to overcome stereotypes and co-exist in harmony. Meanwhile Zoltan Nagy has problems with ordinary ethnic racism, a possessive mother, and the usual crop of bullies. Durmstrang has to cope with some old attitudes without Jade; but now it has Marauders...
David Fraser is excited and a little nervous over the idea of rising to the challenge of filling Dumbledore's shoes; he expects there to be plenty to challenge him. Problems from the ministry are de rigeur, as are enterprising ideas from film buff Marauders of all levels, and a Quidditch match against Durmstrang and the re-introduced sport of Quiddpolo are almost commonplace...
Where Severus and Krait are concerned, of course, a quiet year is a relative matter! Especially when Severus plots to do a chant to free all the House Elves in Europe from self punishment compulsions, and the fey get bolshie about it.
