Stories by Stanrick

Amidst the political turmoil and ubiquitous madness of their fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry and Hermione are about to discover that sometimes in life, in order to find the right way to go, one is first required to get properly stuck. Apparently.
Something's up with Hermione Granger. Well, more than the usual, at any rate. And Harry Potter, having bestowed upon him the exclusive privilege of bearing the brunt of her strange moods, has reached the point of being jolly well fed up with it. It's high time to get to the bottom of this all but insoluble mystery...
On his way home a man whose name can hardly be called a mystery around these parts encounters three people at three very different stages in their lives, his own in many ways connected to each of them. All the paths he treads, however, always and without exception lead him back to one fixed point: the place where he belongs, the place he calls home.
Dark times lie ahead, they said. Soon we will have to decide between what is easy and what is right, they said. Yeah, well. Nobody told him they were actually talking about that Yule Ball nightmare that now lies inescapably ahead with no clear answers in sight. How will he ever get out of this mess, and is there any way that doesn't involve dancing? (There isn't.)
When a young green-eyed wizard and a minimally older brown-eyed witch, the best of friends for years, discover their mutual fondness for one particular armchair in front of one particular fireplace, it can inevitably mean one thing and one thing only: War. And then also – eventually, potentially – something else. Maybe. But first it's definitely war.
Most people tend to assume they'll wake up exactly where they fall asleep, and usually they have good reason to do so. For someone, however, even that simple certainty stops being a given one strange night, when quite surprisingly he does in fact not wake up where he fell asleep. And that is only the beginning of what will be one most unusual week in the life of Harry Potter.
These are the personal accounts of one Hermione J. Granger. It's not a diary. She doesn't like diaries. She writes commentaries and factual reports and collects them in leather-bound books, of which she has completed twelve volumes over the course of eight years so far. This is her fifth year at Hogwarts, and chances are she won't manage to finish it before going utterly insane.
For Harry Potter life was never really an option. Marked by a cruel fate with one single purpose, he now steps forth to fulfill that very purpose with one final sacrifice. For Hermione Granger there is only one place to be, one person to stand by, one purpose to follow. And follow she will, to whatever end.
Less of a story and more of a moody rumination on some choices in life that don't work out the way we once hoped. Hermione is married to Ron and Harry bears witness to one of their uglier altercations. A kid gets caught in the middle. Tears will be shed, tea will be had. Things will be said, some of them bad.
It's always easy to look and much harder to see. Sometimes, it may even take a third pair of eyes to open your own. And sometimes, you might nearly run that third pair of eyes over in the middle of the hallway...

Harry returns to England after nearly two years of absence, only to find that he might have lost what appears to be the most important thing of all. – The short conclusion to a long story, for when the ghouls come out to play they whisper words of doubt, regret and loss of direction in the infinite distances between two people.
One morning during breakfast in the Great Hall, things quite suddenly begin to turn into the most unexpected directions, when Harry behaves in a rather peculiar fashion - much to the bewilderment of Hermione and their fellow friends.
19 years after Hogwarts, the world is perfect. The only selfish, power-crazed person that ever existed was defeated, all the deaths the whole affair brought about quickly forgotten and the happy, naturally developed couples were eager to get started on making babies and giving them awful names. And of course it all worked out exactly like that, duh! What an epilogue!
A one-shot about the tent scene from "Deathly Hallows Part I", what happened therein between Harry and Hermione and what might have been going on in Harry's thoughts. Inspired by the belief in their special bond, yet still quite true to canon.
