Absentmindedly, Sirius lifted his hand to the top of his chest and brushed his warm fingers just under his collarbone to feel the spot where one of his more recent tattoos marked his skin. The light wins the war and all is well except it isn't, not beneath the surface. After an unexpected solicitation to visit Azkaban Hermione finds herself on another of her missions, though the subject she chooses is less malleable than she would have imagined.

Neither could have expected that when the war ended this would be where they would end up. Confronted with their own choices and actions both need to learn how to live in this new version of the world, reluctantly, they find solace in each other.

Roughly pushed to the floor Hermione felt the shock of pain shoot up her knees from where they impacted the unforgiving ground. She was breathless, cold and so, so close to giving up, she just wanted this to be over. She had lived the last year desperate for it to be over, only the worst was just beginning (one-shot).
