(Originally posted as the last chapter of my complete fiction, 'Stupid', as a prequel to the story.) This one-shot vignette takes place when our heroes were seventeen, during the events of 'Deathly Hallows'. Hermione's perspective. HHr.

DH spoilers. Hermione's wandering train of thought as she washes the dishes. 'Ron will kill me if he sees me cleaning without a wand. You're a witch, act like it! he'd say. He doesn't understand that I need the distraction...' HHr.

There are times when Hermione feels overwhelmed by the developments in her relationship with Ron, and finds herself looking elsewhere for shelter and shade from the too-hot sun.
